Obituary for Peter Lindley Murray
Peter L Murray, 81, of Simpsonville, SC, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, November 26, 2019. Peter was born August 30, 1938 in New Brunswick, New Jersey to his parents late Clifford E Murray and Susan Conant. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Sarah Barron Murray; four sons, Steven Murray, Peter Murray (Lauren), Caldwell Murray, David Murray; daughter Sarah Arledge (Sean); eight grandchildren Jackson, Mackenzie, Hank, Alexis, Ezra, Madilyn, Agnes, and John Luke.
Peter received a degree in Geology from the University of Virginia and a masters degree in Spanish from Furman University of Greenville, SC. He was a retired teacher from the school district of Greenville County. Peter also served twenty nine years in the Army in the Mechanized Field Artillery.
A memorial service will be held Saturday December 7th, 2019, at 11:00 am at St. Peter Episcopal, 910 Hudson Road, Greenville, SC. A reception will follow after the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Greenville Humane Society, 305 Airport Road, Greenville, SC 29607.
