Obituary for Lyndall Major

Lyndall Culbertson Tolly Major, 79, widow of Dennis Ray Major, entered into eternal rest on September 28, 2019. Born and raised in Ware Shoals, South Carolina, she was the daughter of James Fitzgerald Culbertson and Amelia F’Lyce Culbertson.
A celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, October 1st, 2019 at 6 PM at Bethany Baptist Church in Belton, South Carolina. Visitation will be held at 5 PM prior to the celebration.
She was a 1958 graduate of Ware Shoals High School and also a graduate of Anderson Memorial Hospital Licensed Practical Nursing Program. She retired from Patrick B. Harris Psychiatric Hospital.
She is survived by daughters, Jane Broadwell (Keith), Angela Foster, F’Lyce Major, son Tom Tolly (Todd Dantzler), stepson Keith Major (Brenda), six grandchildren: James Thomas Foster (Noel), Whitney Foster (Edward Hancock), Anna Broadwell, Sarah Silver (Drayson), Nick Major (Laci), Andrew Major (Hope Alley), seven great-grandchildren, five step great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Elizabeth Culbertson, two nieces, two nephews and special friend Lucretia Snipes.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, James Fitzgerald Culbertson, Jr. and son -in - law Jeff Foster.
Lyndall had an energetic and vibrant personality, a quick wit, loved baseball and basketball, especially her Duke Blue Devils. Her light will continue to shine through the many lives she touched and the memories she created.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, 105 S. Fant Street, Anderson, SC 29624, or the charity of one’s choice.
