Obituary for James Ted Stevens

James Theodore “Ted” Stevens, 73, passed away at his home in Greenville, SC, on Sunday, June 16, 2019. Born in Skene, Mississippi, he was the son of the late Buddy and Belle Stevens. He is survived by Gail, his loving wife of 50 years; his children Stacy Forrester (Joel), Sam Stevens (Angie) and Kristen Wolfe (Joshua); his five beloved grandchildren Dylan Pinyon (Kerri), Savanah Stevens, Morgan Forrester, Pierce Wolfe and Carson Forrester; brother-in-law Dean Davis (Pam) and sister-in-law Sharon Cole (Jim); nephews Taylor Davis (Jenn) and Will Cole; special cousin Merry Lou Ballard (Ed) and family; and family member John Wolfe.
Ted was a long-time member of Brookwood Community Church of Simpsonville. He was happiest spending his free time with family and friends and taking long drives through the country on the road less traveled. He was a retired entrepreneur who encouraged others to pursue their dreams. Ted always enjoyed giving advice and words of wisdom. He would often say “Here’s some great advice whether you want to use it or not.” Those words of advice will carry on in the hearts of many. Ted’s legacy will be that of love; devoted love he had for his wife, love of a great father to his children, and overwhelming love and affection for his grandchildren.
At his request a private family memorial will be held to honor the unconditional love he held most dear for his family.
