Obituary for Galina Anatolyevna Astapeyeva

Galina Anatolyevna Astapeyeva, 60, of Taylors, South Carolina, born in Russia to the late Anatoliy Nemirov and Nadejda Nemirova, passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2019. She left in comfort and peace, surrounded by nature and beautiful gardens at the Open Arms Hospice in Simpsonville, South Carolina. She is survived by son Yegor Astapeyev; daughters Ekaterina Reikh and Tatyana Brannon; grandchildren Elizaveta Reikh, Alexandra Astapeyeva, Maxat Sakenov, Dimitriy Astapeyev, Rufina Reikh, Nikolai Astapeyev, and Nicole Brannon; great granddaughter Margarita Marakhovskaya; brother Alexander Nemirov; daughter-in-law Oxana Astapeyeva; and sons-in-law David Brannon and Saken Agazhanov. She also leaves behind her nephews, Denis Fedorov, Artyom Fedorov, Andrei Nemirov, and Ivan Nemirov; cousins and uncles; and special friends, Zoya and Nikolai Sazanov, Magrifa and Orynbasar Pashimov, and Natalia Gorcheneva. She was proceeded in death by her husband Nikolai Yegorovich Astapeyev in April 2019, and her son Ostap Nikolayevich Astapeyev in October 1987.
After the high school, Galina dedicated her career to working with preschool children. Her colleagues, parents and children all loved and respected her. Galina was an avid gardener and a wonderful homemaker. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a generous hostess, trustworthy friend and a confidant. She was the matriarch of the family, a glue that held the family together and she will be greatly missed.
Friends and family may visit anytime/day at the family’s residence
A memorial service will be held at Open Arms Hospice, located at 1836 West Georgia Road,
Simpsonville, SC 29680 on Sunday, November 3, 2019 at 11:00 AM.
Lunch will be served after the service.
